A good alarm

I've given an extensive review of the the Mace Home Security unit and included a review of this siren. When set up it has an effective range of about 200-250 feet. This is helpful if you live in a rural area, depending on how far away your neighbors are and the amount of neighborhood noise. The siren is a remote unit although it does require 110v for the supplied 9 volt power supply. It has battery backup in case of power failure. I have the siren located about 20 feet from the control unit and it works fine.
The only problem I had was with programing it to the main unit. There have been three versions of software for this unit developed over the years and each requires a specific programing procedure. Identifying the serial number on back of the main control was supposed to identify which version I had but this proved to be incorrect but fortunately for Mace's fantastic tech support I was able to resolve this problem fairly easily. My advice is that if the one of the two programing techniques don't work then try following the other procedure. Again, it's not super loud but does help in providing a deterrent.

nice producet, easy to install, reasonable priced , no problems to set up ! works as stated, will be buying other accessories to add to it ! range is where they said it covers !

Enhances the system

This little siren adds the extra punch, as far as the noise factor, for the alarm system. It is a small foot print, and totally independent of the main console, you just need to plug in the ac adaptor.
